The Vampire Knitting Club Book #1

Thank you so much Partners In Crime Virtual Book Tours for including me in the tour for The Vampire Knitting Club by Nancy Warren!!! What a great start to this fun new Paranormal Mystery Series. I really enjoyed reading it! It was really funny with a great lighthearted story line. Sometimes its just nice to read a paranormal book that isn't dark :)  I loved all the different characters, especially the main character Lucy. So fun and I cant wait to read more!

Vampires who knit
A troublemaking witch
Who killed Granny — and is she really dead?

At a crossroads between a cringe-worthy past (Todd the Toad) and an uncertain future (she's not exactly homeless, but it's close), Lucy Swift travels to Oxford to visit her grandmother. With Gran's undying love to count on and Cardinal Woolsey's, Gran's knitting shop, to keep her busy, Lucy can catch her breath and figure out what she's going to do.

Except it turns out that Gran is the undying. Or at least, the undead. But there's a death certificate. And a will, leaving the knitting shop to Lucy. And a lot of people going in and out who never use the door—including Gran, who is just as loving as ever, and prone to knitting sweaters at warp speed, late at night. What exactly is going on?

When Lucy discovers that Gran did not die peacefully in her sleep, but was murdered, she has to bring the killer to justice without tipping off the law that there's no body in the grave. Between a hot 600-year-old vampire and a dishy detective inspector, both of whom always seem to be there for her, Lucy finds her life getting more complicated than a triple cable cardigan.
The only one who seems to know what's going on is her cat ... or is it ... her familiar?

Two Minus One

Thank you so much @booksparks #partner for sending me Two Minus One by Kathryn Taylor @kataylor15 This memoir is part of the #magicofmemoir2018 Blog Tour 4.0 that I'm taking part in. Two Minus One is said to be heart-wrenching and beautifully written and I can't wait to read it.
***This is my first book post without Sailor in the photo. I used a rose from the bouquet of flowers we recieved after she passed in memory of her***
DESCRIPTION: “You can quit waiting for the other shoe to drop: I’m in it for life.” Those are the fateful, repeated words that help convince Kathryn Taylor to remarry, retire from her thirty-year profession, sell her home, and relocate in support of her new husband’s career. But five years later, in a car packed with food she has carefully prepared to nourish her husband’s dying brother, the other shoe does drop. Taylor’s husband unexpectedly proclaims he is, “done with the marriage and doesn’t want to talk about it.” With this, the life Taylor has come to know is over. Relying on the strength of a lifelong friend who refuses to let her succumb to the intense waves of grief, she slowly begins to find her way out of the shadows of grief. Over the course of two years, through appointments with attorneys and therapists, purging shared belongings, and pushing herself to meet new people and do new things, Taylor not only regains a sense of control in her life, she also learns to enjoy the new life she has built, the friendships she’s formed—and to savor her newfound strength.

Really Sad News.

Well you guys, we have the most terrible news. Sailor passed suddenly on Tuesday 😥😥💔. We are all heartbroken and still can't believe it. One minute she was at the window barking at dogs going by and the next she had collapsed and was gone within 10 seconds. It was terrible. 😥 We took her to the emergency vet and I guess her heart just gave out suddenly. It's a hard pill to swallow when you think your dog is healthy and going to live for a very long time. She was only two years old 😞 We were all right there when it happened which was horrible but I'm also thankful she wasn't alone.
  • Sailor was such a special dog and we loved her very very much. She was truly a huge part of our family and a constant companion to me. We have been talking alot with our kids about the good times and how Sailor was so loved not just by us but everyone who knew her. We are going to miss our beautiful Sailor like crazy. Words can't even express 💔

Death By The River

Wow! What a great book! Thank you PICT for having us in your Tour for Death By the River. When I was first reading this book I wasn't sure what to think. I almost couldn't finish it because I was so freaked out and worried about what was going to happen. It's funny how those type of books you don't usually read end up one of  your favorite's :)   What a great phycological thriller!! I was captivated from the beginning and couldn't put it down. It also had a great ending which I did not see coming. Great read and I highly recommend.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Some truths are better kept secret. Some secrets are better off dead.

Along the banks of the Bogue Falaya River, sits the abandoned St. Francis Seminary. Beneath a canopy of oaks, blocked from prying eyes, the teens of St. Benedict High gather here on Fridays. The rest of the week belongs to school and family—but weekends belong to the river.

And the river belongs to Beau Devereaux.

The only child of a powerful family, Beau can do no wrong. Handsome. Charming. Intelligent. The star quarterback of the football team. The “prince” of St. Benedict is the ultimate catch.

He is also a psychopath.

A dirty family secret buried for years, Beau’s evil grows unchecked. In the shadows of the ruined St. Francis Abbey, he commits unspeakable acts on his victims and ensures their silence with threats and intimidation. Senior year, Beau sets his sights on his girlfriend’s headstrong twin sister, Leslie, who hates him. Everything he wants but cannot have, she will be his ultimate prize.

As the victim toll mounts, it becomes crystal clear that someone has to stop Beau Devereaux.

And that someone will pay with their life.

WARNING: Readers of Death by the River will encounter situations of violence and sexual abuse which could be upsetting.
